My friend Troy Dean reminded me today (in one of his excellent WordPress training videos) of something I wrote 3 nights ago that I’d like share here. It’s about the “why” behind the “what” and “how” of the work we do here for our clients.
The Big Why
As in “why are we in business?”
To make the world a happier, more compassionate place.
To me, the purpose of doing business is not just to change the world, but to save the world.
We go to work each day to help people to raise their own vibration, to become happier and more fulfilled, thus more tolerant of, kinder and more caring toward others, which is ultimately what will save the human race from itself.
By helping frustrated business owners to tell themselves a different story about how well they run their business, and by genuinely helping them to successfully use web marketing technologies to grow their businesses and lead more successful organisations (however small), our customers come to thrive. By getting their marketing work done, they feel more empowered and more fully self-expressed.
At a basic level, by helping people to feel like they matter, by validating them and their experiences, we help them to feel happier about themselves and to evolve into people who enjoy higher levels of self-worth, happiness, peace and fulfillment. This in turn helps them to treat others with more love, empathy and compassion as they come at life from a place of abundance, inner-peace and joy, rather than one of lack, fear, frustration and self-doubt.
The more people out there who are changed and touched by this positive upward spiral, the higher the vibration on earth and the more peaceful, loving, kind, compassionate and caring this society will become.
So to recap: to me the purpose of our business, and of any business worth its salt, is to make the world a better place by touching and changing people’s lives, by raising their vibration, one person at a time.
The purpose of doing to business is not just to change the world – but to change it for the better.
The purpose of doing business is no less than to save the world.
