The other day I went in to a bank. The woman at the counter looked so unimpressed that I interrupted her that she could barely bring herself to say hello.
Same happened when I was served by a food truck recently. I waited at the counter for maybe 10 minutes (felt like 5 years) before the unsmiling dude eventually stopped ignoring me and reluctantly took my order.
I was happy to wait, but what I was not happy about was how I was left hanging, my presence unacknowledged.
What I needed was a Genuine Human Connection (GHC), not just a bank account or a tortilla. It’s the greatest marketing secret.
The representative of each business, in failing to provide for my basic, unspoken need for a re-energising Love Hit, scuttled whatever marketing efforts the business had won me over with prior.
Gimme A Little Lovin’!
When we have a genuine human connection with someone in a business who cares and treats us with respect, we feel uplifted. It can make our day, which makes us feel more positive about the business we just interacted with. But when we do not get our “Love Hit” we feel a little worse off for the experience, we feel genuinely hurt, which hurts the business in return.
Once you start rocking the power of the GHC, attracting customers won’t be very hard. Your new problem will be fulfilling all the orders you attract!
