How to increase website traffic by 150 visits a day … the rock opera, sung in a lost language once used by unicorn riding warriors from the Lost City of Mu.
As a busy mum, sorry I mean marketer, I am always looking for ways to increase website traffic for myself and my clients. I mean that’s why I’m writing this blog post, right? It’s not like I feel inexplicably driven to bang away at the keyboard and give away all my secrets just for fun is it?
No.
Not at all.
I do it to increase the amount and quality (dubious, I know) of content that I put out there in order to attract more website traffic.
Website Traffic Is People!
Yes, yes, here it comes… a ranty segue into something slightly off topic…
Look – using phrases like “website traffic” sucks. Website traffic is people. And people are not all the same. You don’t want EVERYBODY to come to your website; you just want RELEVANT people to visit your website. So what you should be banging into Google is “increase RELEVANT website traffic” because just getting more traffic will only suck for you and your business, not the other way around.

This suit serves as a good example of why you don’t just want to increase website traffic, you also want relevant visitors (with better clothes)
OK so where was I? Oh yeah, how did I increase visits to my client’s website by 150 visits a day?
Actually, I didn’t. The client did. So maybe the headline should be…
How My Client Did Increase Website Traffic Like A Boss (Which He Is)
What he did was he decided to stop emailing his customer-base some regular information that they were constantly getting by daily emails and instead put this information on his website and made sure it was updated daily.
Genius! Who woulda thunk it?
Well he did, and it worked a charm.
Of course it doesn’t count for squat if you have no reason for your customers to visit your website, but assuming you do have a good reason to drive your customers, like the proverbial lemmings (only more profitable and without any cliffs or deaths) to your website, then have a look at what information you are constantly dolling out either via email, phone, fax or in person and make them go to your site to get that info.
Also … I hate Unicorns.
And kittens.
