Eventually you need to convert your potential customers into paying customers. So this means that eventually your content has to stop being merely being useful and start selling.
How you sell is a function of your business, some people can sell online, others can’t. But one thing is for sure, you can measure how well your online marketing is driving conversions (either in the form of online sales or enquiries, etc) and the other great thing is there are ways and means to improve these results over time. This is the arcane science called Conversion Optimisation.
Conversion Optimisation is all about running experiments along every part of the content journey until you each choke point cleared and you’re seeing those sales graphs start to go all up and to the right.
